Touching Stories - multi-sensory stories for people with intellectual disabilities

Sunday, October 27th 4:00-6:00pm -- OUR BEST FUNDRAISING EVENT EVER!

Do you love wine?  Do you love chocolate? Do you love Touching Stories and the work we do bringing stories to children and adults with intellectual disabilities?
Have we got an event for you!

Join us on Sunday, October 27th at BookBar for a chocolate and wine pairing class!
Tickets are $40 in advance for an individual or $75 in advance for a couple.  A very limited number of pay-at-the-door tickets will be available for $50 on the day of the event.

Our generous partners, BookBar and The Chocolate Therapist have donated their lovely space, expertise, and wonderful goodies, so the proceeds for this event will go directly to Touching Stories to help us fund our work!

For four years, Touching Stories has been traveling across Colorado and beyond, providing multi-sensory storytelling to children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
This year, we are participating in an exciting new event -- a full-semester residency at two local middle schools!  During each residency, we will tell stories, teach the art of storytelling, and help students learn to create stories about their own lives and the things that they love!  These residencies will bring together students from the mainstream classrooms and students in the special education classroom to learn together and share their stories with one another.

We need your help. Through a generous donation from Target Stores, we are about a third of the way to our fundraising goal of $7000 for this year.  Won't you please come enjoy good food, good wine, good stories, and good company and support our cause?

We at Touching Stories are so honored to have been named 7 Everyday Heroes by our local Channel 7 news here in Denver!

Newscaster Mitch Jelniker surprised me at a telling at Laradon one day, with a camera crew and a lovely plaque:
